MCP tools

Every tool the server offers an agent, with its arguments. Generated from the server’s own tools/list.

Agents call these over /mcp with an access token; every one is also an endpoint of the REST API. A read tool changes nothing and works with a read-only token. A write tool is recorded in the issue's history under the token's name.

Attachment

attachment_addwriteAttach a file to an issue, or to one of its comments: a mock-up, a report, a log, a screenshot.
attachment_deletewriteDelete an attachment.
attachment_upload_urlwriteGet a one-time link to upload a file too large for attachment_add's content_base64 (up to 10 MB).

Comment

comment_addwriteWrite a comment on an issue.
comment_listreadRead an issue's whole comment thread, oldest first, paginated.
comment_updatewriteEdit a comment's body or soft-delete it.

Issue

issue_createwriteFile an issue in a project.
issue_deletewriteSoft-delete an issue.
issue_getreadRead one issue before you change it: its type and whether that type is a document, its labels, its 10 newest comments and events with the true totals and truncation flags, and its links both ways.
issue_historyreadRead one issue's activity log, newest first: its own changes and its comments', each with its whole before and after.
issue_listreadList issues, newest-updated first; filters combine with AND, 50 by default and 200 at most, and while has_more is true pass next_cursor back as cursor.
issue_movewriteSet an issue's project and milestone in one atomic call; issue_update changes neither of those two.
issue_searchreadSearch issue titles and descriptions for a phrase.
issue_updatewriteChange an issue's title, description, status, priority, assignee, due date, labels, type, links or place in the project's manual order, or restore one that was soft-deleted.

Label

label_createwriteCreate a workspace-wide label; bug means the same thing everywhere, so labels are not project-scoped.
label_listreadList every workspace label: an id, a name and a colour each.
label_updatewriteRename a label, change its colour, or delete it.

Milestone

milestone_createwriteAdd a milestone to a project: one chunk of work in the project's ordered sequence.
milestone_deletewriteDelete a milestone.
milestone_listreadList a project's milestones in sequence order, with their positions, target dates, issue counts and state.
milestone_updatewriteRename a milestone, change or clear its target date, or move it in the project's sequence with position; the other milestones renumber around it.

Project

project_createwriteCreate a project, the top of the tree.
project_getreadRead one project with its milestones in sequence order and each one's delivery numbers: which are complete, which are no_issues, and whether the project is delivered or overdue.
project_listreadList projects, each with how many of its milestones are complete and whether it is delivered or overdue.
project_updatewriteRename a project, change its lead, or archive and unarchive it (archiving is an admin call; an archived project takes no new issues and its existing ones stay readable), or set how agents finish work here: agent_done, one of review, allowed and proof, and done_criteria, the markdown a refusal quotes to the agent it turned away.

Proposal

proposal_createwritePropose a new description for a document.
proposal_decidewriteDecide a pending proposal: accept, decline or withdraw.

Type

type_createwriteAdd an issue type.
type_updatewriteRename a type, change its tag or description, switch it between work item and document, or delete it.
